A bit about my experience…

With over 40 years of clinical experience, I provide an analytic space that is both contemporary and flexible. I practice both Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy on the Westside of LA and online if necessary. If you would like to know more about the difference between therapy and analysis, please reach out. I have contributed to professional psychoanalytic literature including publishing three books and over 60 articles, essays and book chapters. I also have 30 years of experience in analyzing and supervising clinicians in the field of mental health. In 2016 I was named Faculty of the Year at the New Center for Psychoanalysis. And in 2020 I was awarded Distinguished Psychoanalytic Educator by the International Federation of Psychoanalytic Educators (IFPE).

Things to consider in working with me…

  • Do you ever wonder why your personal and professional relationships are so unfulfilling?

  • Have you wondered how your view of yourself impacts your success both personally and professionally?

  • Have you considered why aspects of stress and sadness interfere with the possibilities for pleasure and deeper engagement with life?

  • Do you understand why you feel disengaged and disconnected in your interactions with others?

If you feel shut down about your capacity to be spontaneous and to feel more alive, you might welcome the opportunity to begin a collaborative therapeutic experience. Therapy with me can be useful in helping deepen your self-understanding and awareness as to why significant aspects of your life might not be working as well as you would like them.
